Optimize the life-cycle costs of your water/ steam circuit
Takes little steam to carry a large amount of energy; takes little water to damage the turbine
Major benefits of using steam as a heat transfer medium are that it is nontoxic, nonflammable, the equipment is inexpensive and requires little maintenance. Nevertheless, you may experience system safety issues, early equipment failures, poor steam system efficiency, frequent boiler shutdowns, damaged steam pipes and valves due to water hammer, vibration, corrosion and erosion, reduced capacity of steam heaters, and overloaded steam traps.
60 Mio $
is the cost of a 500MW steam turbine. If a revamp of the turbine is necessary, the encountered costs will be as expensive as the initial costs.
Our commitment to you is to make the operation of your water/ steam circuit efficient and alleviate vacuum and density challenges that are slowing it down. We provide a complete range of solutions, technologies and services that meet your application requirements. Our level, pressure, flow, temperature, liquid analysis, etc., measurement instruments are manufactured to the highest quality standards to guarantee consistent performance and compatibility. We offer complete bypass solutions that:
Optimize your life-cycle costs
Reduce planning and procurement time
Minimize loading and mounting costs
Are compliant with power plant safety standards (PED)
Reduce maintenance costs
Increase the efficiency of the water/ steam circuit
Condenser Hot well
The steam condenser’s main purpose is to condense the exhausted steam from the low pressure turbine and convert it into water so that it can be reused in the boiler as feedwater. The vacuum of this steam is key to generate more power but requires easy testing and maintenance as well as reliable level measurement at all times. How do you address vacuum issues and level gauge maintenance? Try our guided wave radar, an alternative to traditional dp level transmitters and displacer type level.
Steam drum and pre-heaters
If the level is too low, overheating of the water wall tubes may cause accidents, causing expensive repairs, downtime and injury to personnel. If the level is too high, boiler water carryover into the super-heater or turbine may lead to extensive maintenance costs, turbine or boiler outages, or decreased efficiency. Controlling the level requires sophisticated techniques, such as guided wave radar (GWR), as the level measurement must be accurate and transmitted to the control system.
